Massive Redevelopment, The Grove

Ah yeah, so Vista Avenue has changed a bit since I first looked at it back in August of 2014 when the Grove was still at the cusp of a major redevelopment explosion.

The affordable housing above was just about complete in June of 2018, but things sure have changed. Basically all of the old houses you saw in various degrees of repair have been annihilated for new housing.

In the place of those houses from the 1860s and 70s were large apartment buildings, which seem like they popped out of nowhere.

A few old houses remained, but the new buildings towered over them.

The house below apparently will be renovated.

The nice little bungalows have, how shall we say, been renovated, too. I do not know if I like the results. I thought they were fine in their original form.

Can we please stop using vinyl siding that warps in less than a year after installation? It’s not like nobody notices.

Please don’t tell me these little guys were not economical. You live a charmed life if you think no one would want to buy a house this small.

These houses remind me of when I would go on vacation on the Delaware Atlantic coast and the beach homes that would line the shore.

We’ll see what the future holds.
